Colonoscopies and Carts

This is the most modest picture I found. I figured I could put a more detailed picture of what a colonoscopy is but I figure if you want you can go do the research. How many of you can say at the age of 31 that you have had a inch wide tube shoved from your back side all the way up to the end of your large intestine? YOu see I have Crohn's as many of you know. Its a disease that affects my intestines. It has been quite painful and honestly a pain in my rear(no pun intended) lately. I was diagnosed 5 years ago and started realizing how funny it was that I would go in to see my doc yearly and would be sitting in the waiting room with much more "mature" people of advanced age. I use to think this is crazy I am so young and don't really have many problems with it. NOne the less I would do as doctor ordered and take regular medications to help. So I have now had my second colonoscopy. I had the best experience. I was abruptly woken up by my nurse and I really didn't want to wake up. I had an overwhelming urge to go to the bathroom. She ran and got my husband. As I was waiting I heard the man next to me snoring. I started laughing uncontroably. It was the funniest thing that I ever heard. So off we go to the bathroom. I sit down and start to loose my balance. It was the funniest thing I felt. I procedded to laugh uncontrolably. My husband asked what was so funny. That was the funniest thing I had heard anyone say in my life and procedded to laugh uncontrolably. He helped me get dressed and I couldn't control my leg enough to put it into my pants. That was the funniest thing I have ever tried to do. I laughed my head off. We finally get out of the bathroom and they put me in a wheel chair. I couldn't lift my own leg to put it on the foot rest. That was the funniest thing and I laughed my head off. I waited by myself as my husband went and got the car. Two woman walked in with a gurny and they had those little blue surgical caps of their head. That was the funniest thing I have ever seen and proceeded to laugh my head off. I over heard my nurse saying to them she's been really giggly ever since she woke. That was the funniest thing I heard her say and proceeded to laugh my head off. I couldnt' control it. Tom heaved me into the car and I wasn't expecting it. I laughed my head off. I couldn't control it. What was wrong with me. Why did I find everything so funny?? Its a side affect to the anestisia. I loved that feeling. Everything was good and everything was happy. If I could get my hands on that kind of medicine I would be in trouble because I would want to take it all the time.
How many of you can say you at the age of 31 have needed to drive yourslef around in Walmart with a moterized cart? I can say I have had to do it on several occasions now. These carts are suppose to be for wiser more mature people in advanced age. Not 31 year olds. I have had several hospital stays this year and its soo nice to be wheeled around after almost dying at least once and coming very close another time. The disadvantage is you can't shop for a big family with one of these. Little tip: bring a helper and you can just point to the things that you want and they push the heavy cart and do allll the work. That is the life. I wondered what people thought of me being so young in this thing but with my energy deep down really didn't care. All I could think of was that at least I wasn't spilling out of the motorized cart and didn't have twinkies in my cart. That seems like a contardiction in terms or thoughts rather. Despite having to do the things that advanced mature much wiser people do, I am so grateful for my life and the things that I have learned through out being sick. I take every day as it comes. I am so blessed to have the good days as I call them and know that one day I will have more good days than bad ones. I do pray it comes sooner rather than later however.

Happy Easter

These are just a few picture that we took of our wonderful day. We had such a wonderful day. Tom says I always pick unflattering pictures of him but I think he looks great no matter what. I hope you all had a wonderful Easter. I am so grateful for the Savior's sacrifice. Its so awesome that we have the joyous thoughts of his resurrection instead of having to dwell on his crucifixion

a nice day at the park

Emma 6 years old

We had a nice little day at the park. I can't ever seem to get everyone's picture unless its a kids birthday. So I have to settle with various children. It was a beautiful day and I was so grateful I felt well enough to take them. They had a good time.
