My Elementary Babies

So I have been meaning to post this for a while. When they started school this year, I was planning on taking pictures of everyone especially Emma's first day. Well the day came and I didn't have time to grab my camera and she got on so fast that she was gone in no time. How depressing. So I took one the next day. Aren't they precious! I say that especially when they are playing and happy and not fighting with each other.

Trouble with a capital "T"

I was telling my friend yesterday what a hard time I am having as of late. I have hit my match with child #7. My attention is always on her thus resulting in many other .... busy things should I say. Little ones marking on walls all over the house and not cleaning up after themselves, playing in a sink full of water and not cleaning up after themselves, making their own food and not cleaning up after themselves, making projects and not cleaning up after themselves, playing with puzzles and not cleaning up after themselves, scrounging through the whole house to find a lost item and not cleaning up after themselves, making their lunches for the next school day and not cleaning up after themselves, you get the picture. My life is one big mess right now and I just don't know what to do to get it under control. Anyone out there in my same boat?
I , for the life of me, can't remember what Emma did but she was sent to sit in a place that she could think about what she did wrong and I guess she got tired of thinking and went to sleep.

My new best friend(plant wize anyway)

Alright so I have been seeing these advertised on tv and everytime I see the advertisement I say I really need something like that. What it is is you fill this globe up with water and it waters your plant for up to two weeks. I am horrible about water my plants. I see them and say oh that needs to be water then I get distracted with something else and it just never gets done. I was skeptical because it was being sold on tv but then my sister told me she bought a product off the tv and loved it so I thought it was worth a shot. I searched all over because I certinaly wasn't going to acutally buy it off the tv. They advertise them being sold at Walgreens and places like that. Well they were all sold out. Then low a behold I found them at Walmart. I was so excited and couldn't wait to try it out. I love it. I know that my plant is getting watered and I am not having to do it. I still have to fill it when the water is gone but at least its not much of a worry now. And just think, if we were to go on vacation (thats a IF) the plants would be okay. What kind of products make your life more bliss??

Cute litle project

Okay so I was in charge of a visiting teaching conference Sunday and my friend Melissa found the cutest idea. My theme was helping hands and this is a bottle of soap. It has the word hands on it and then all the kind of hands like helping, clean, grateful, praying, loving, friendly, giving, willing, joyful, caring, strong. Anyway my sister wanted to see it so I thought I would just put it on the blog. It was such a cute idea and they turned out really good. It came together all last minute but none the less it all worked out well. Thanks Melissa for such a cute idea!!! What do you think of it?

Family Bowling

We decided to go bowling as a family a while back. Most of the kids had never been. A couple of them went as a field trip at the end of last year. They all really really liked it. Matthew could only take about one game. I guess it was hard to wait through that big line of people for his turn again. Anyway here are some of the highlight pictures.

This was a fun thing for them to do. They would stand there and watch for the ball to come back up the shoot.
Aaron the little stinker was the best bowler. Even better than Tom and I. (Don't tell Tom I told you that) He really like how fast he could get his ball to go down the lane.
Look at the joy on that sweet boys face. It was as if the world stopped when it was his turn. That was the only thing in this world that was going on was him being able to get that big ball to roll down the lane and hit those balls.

Thankyou for your prayers

BEFORE

AFTER

I know that so many of you have been concerned for us and I am truly grateful. I am grateful for the prayers and the thoughts. THankyou so much. I really do believe that is why the store wasn't as bad as predicted because of everyone's prayers everywhere. So here is the story. We left Saturday night and took of for my parents house. As we approached the freeway we saw it crawling at 5 mile and hour speed and decided to take back roads. We finally hit the freeway at a place we thought the traffic would have thined out. When we hit the freeway it was not crawling but it wasn't freeway speeds either. Everyone was evacuating and that is a lot of people to be on the road at the same time. You could tell that so many people were tired. Including me. I was reacting much slower and was weaving all over the place.. At one point we stopped at a rest stop and there were people everywhere. There was a sense that we were all in this together and everyone was very kind and patient even though we were all tired. I finally had enough and begged Tom to find us a place to stay. We found the last hotel room they had and it was ina place we thought people wouldn't go but we were wrong. We got a few hours of sleep and woke up and headed back off for my mom's. I am so grateful to have a place to stay. Anyway the storm came and went and we made our way home again. It was a long time home but we made it. We met a man on our trip that offered for us to come and stay at his home. And he clearly saw how many people are in our family and didn't care. What a sweet man. He kept asking if we were sure he couldn't help us with anything. So we get home and find only a piece of siding ripped off and a porch light bulb ripped out of the socket but layed completley in tacked on the ground. So weird. Anyway we feel very blessed and know that we wouldn't be without all your prayers. The daunting thought is there are so many more storms out there to watch and keep an eye on. But at least we were safe and the Lord really blessed us. We had a good time with my parents and other than the stress before and the stress of getting home we enjoyed it. I pray that the Lord will continue to bless us throughout this storm season.
